Ever since I was eleven years old I've been designing clothes and occasionally sewing from some patterns, but it was only until two years ago when I began bringing my sketches to life. I realized that I have never once included my own pieces on my blog, so I hope to bring out more of my own designs in my posts. I think it would be appropriate to celebrate the first post by wearing the first product of my sketches that became physically wearable (this doesn't include simple garments like skirts or pieces I've made with patterns).

This reworked denim piece was created from recycled jeans I found at local thrift shops. Since entering the fashion industry, I have grown to realize that its fast-moving market and aim for mass production is not appealing to me at all. Essentially, my goal is to cultivate unique, handcrafted pieces that articulate my artistic ideas, sociopolitical views, and overall aesthetic while being environmentally conscious.

This oversized jacket is intended to bring attention to small details that are easily overlooked, but are crucial to the piece overall. From the raw edges on the sleeves to the copper rivets to the hints of color in labels or even to the placement of a seam, it would be completely different if these minor details had been left out.

Lately I've been really into styling primary colors. There's just something so visually appealing about these foundational hues, I can't stop thinking of ways to wear them. This is one of my favorite looks involving the primaries, featuring this pair of distressed flare jeans from Mango that has been a staple in my closet since I got my hands on them. This asymmetrical mustard knit is such an appropriate piece for the fall/thanksgiving time, and black and gold details compliment it so satisfyingly well.

I'm currently taking complete advantage of these last few weeks of warm weather! Neutrals and muted pastels have been a go-to style for me lately, because they create such simple yet cohesive outfits. Since the school year started, I recently got a new phone, obviously requiring me to find a new case. Being a marble addict, I wanted to find something with an edge of my personality. I found that Madotta has the best cases for my style. They're not just great quality, but they stay clean and don't wear out like all of my cases in the past. Not to mention how such an insignificant object can bring interest to a look, especially this grey one. The details are so interesting and I'm super into the color palette!

Whenever I go to the city I want to dress in a way that is both comfortable and simple. My go-to city look is basic casual layers, and this time I went for an easy denim on denim with some minimalistic stripes to add variety to the blue tones. I absolutely love the farmer's market in the city, and there are always the most beautiful pop-up flower shops scattered around! My mom and I are drawn to dahlias like magnets! They're so gorgeous, I'm in love with their vibrant colors aaaaah!

This summer I've really been expanding my horizons {color wise} and I have to admit that I'm pretty proud of myself for actually wearing colors other than black :). Neutral or pastel color schemes are what I found myself drawing towards, and I've been having some fun playing around with monochromatic looks. Also, can we just have a moment of silence because I think this blush/pink color is really growing on me.... Who knows, maybe one day I'll wear a certified actual pink article of clothing one day haha!
