Whenever I go to the city I want to dress in a way that is both comfortable and simple. My go-to city look is basic casual layers, and this time I went for an easy denim on denim with some minimalistic stripes to add variety to the blue tones. I absolutely love the farmer's market in the city, and there are always the most beautiful pop-up flower shops scattered around! My mom and I are drawn to dahlias like magnets! They're so gorgeous, I'm in love with their vibrant colors aaaaah!

This summer I've really been expanding my horizons {color wise} and I have to admit that I'm pretty proud of myself for actually wearing colors other than black :). Neutral or pastel color schemes are what I found myself drawing towards, and I've been having some fun playing around with monochromatic looks. Also, can we just have a moment of silence because I think this blush/pink color is really growing on me.... Who knows, maybe one day I'll wear a certified actual pink article of clothing one day haha!

My all-time favorite place to go for coffee in the city is The Mill SF. From the drinks to the food to the interior to the service, I am completely in love. They have the best coffee and the best bread in the world! Their coffee is from Four Barrel, and the bread is fresh from Josey Baker Bread, which is deliciously rich and soft with crispy crust. To be honest, I prefer their hot chocolate over Four Barrel, however their toast is to die for! If you are ever in SF be sure to stop by!

Lately I've been experimenting with a wider range of colors other than my usual black, white, grey, camel, and old blue jeans combos. I wouldn't consider myself someone who is all for vibrant hues, but once in a while, I love a good peach/blush piece to spice up my style. With the weather being scorching hot lately, my white bf jeans have been my best buddies. I feel like the weather in cali went from cold to hot without any spring weather. I'm kind of stuck in a spring mode at the moment... if ya can't tell with my flowers and fresh tones...

Being a huge animal activist, I've been on the path to becoming a 100% cruelty free person. I've been seriously considering going fully vegan because I'm really not comfortable supporting companies and corporations that test {i.e. bath + beauty products} or abuse their animals {i.e. milk from mistreated cows with hormones + eggs from caged hens + any kind of leather, fur, skin in general}. At the same time, I don't think it's necessary for me to completely cut out dairy + eggs from my diet, but I've given up red meat and I rarely eat chicken. I have so much respect for those who have chosen to be completely vegan. The guideline for myself is that I'll only buy/eat my dairy/eggs if I know that they come from cage-free, free-range eggs and milk from grass-fed cows. Basically, the bottom line is I don't want to eat or purchase anything unless its guaranteed humane or cruelty free. I'm not going to get into the never ending list of ways that animals are mistreated, but it's so important that as a society, we are fighting the horrors that go on behind the closed doors of industries that use animal's products for consumer use or experimentation. If not participating in ending the exploitation of our earth's beautiful creatures, we must at least be aware and somehow respond, and starting with yourself is the best place to begin.

With that being said, I've completely cleansed my makeup + bathroom collection of products that are tested on animals. There are so many helpful search engines out there that can be used to verify if a certain brand is cruelty free or vegan. Some of my favorites are PetaLeaping BunnyCruelty-Free Kitty, and there are so many more helpful sites and searches out there. Of course if a particular brand isn't coming up anywhere, the brand's website is always a great place to check. Becoming cruelty-free isn't scary at all, there are so many well-known and loved brands and products out there that don't test on animals and are vegan. Here are some of the products I've gotten for my clean-out:

Remember, these aren't even a tiny fraction of all the great products that you can easily substitute for brands that test on animals! I really hope this post has somewhat inspired, helped and motivated anyone to stand against animal cruelty!
